Rope Training Update

The OH&S committee met 09/09/08 with management to discuss ropes among other topics.  It has been agreed that the rope manual must me updated before we proceed with rope training.  The TRRT program was one of the best programs that we had on the OFD before the TRRT truck was taken out of station#4.

WE felt that training methods and techniques that were being taught and used just were not safe.

Only land based rope training will be delivered until this TRRT program is updated to our satisfaction.  Continue on as safe as possible using the methods that you are familiar with.

To the OPFFA members  that are “Rope Experts”  Please give your support to this program.  It is our safety at stake here.  Use your vast knowledge to make this program “ours” once again.
Also be advise that at no time will a high line be used.  Yes this means Fire Prevention Week Kickoff (Sorry Mike we are not circus clowns).  If you are asked to do so the answer is NO!
